Leechard,

Approaching is 12 Febraury 2009, when president Lincoln was born. For many people, it is very special to commemorate this date. Being the 200th beloved, and respected president birthday, it is also the 23rd day of tenure of president Obama, who has always seen Lincoln as his idol, and Lincoln's philosphy as his guidance to follow. Lincoln pledged to allow the African slaves in American nation to have the right that white people enjoyed, and spent 4 years in military actions to defeat the Conferderates, who disliked his idea. In November last year, the fruit of his action ripened with the Obama's victory against Mccain in 2008 presidental election. These two events, i think, are sufficient ground for Americans to happily celebrate the birthdate of Lincoln. Were lincoln to be alive today, he could not only bear the witness of many changes revolutionising and reforming American society and culture, but also be very glad to see the Obama on Inauguration day.

Other than Obama, many organisations, the congress, the Lincoln fans, also organised many events in the year 2009 to commemorate such a figure in American History. Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission, with its members being appointed by government, has planned a series of events to be held in many ameican places this year. Even though you are not American, you can still have an active participation into this event. I believe you can write a commentary, lasting 1000 words or longer, to celebrate his 200th birthday. This commentary can include your feeling, or your prespective into this famous man. Alternatively, you may just copy your articles on your blog. Attached here are some your articles suiting this purpose.

Please write to me soon if you agree to it or not.

Best wishes,
william

  1. Leechard,

I am just asking you to write on your blog articles on Lincoln. It is not my intention to ask you to write to American Bicentennial Commission for celebrating Lincoln (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abraham_Lincoln_Bicentennial_Commission), an organisation appointed by American congress to commemorate this great man. I think,As a fan of lincoln, you are happy to write for this great man,

    Best wishes,
    william
