"politically sound"

I was thinking of "politically sound", but "sound" is a positive word, so it might not be appropriate for this cynical expression. A quick glance at the internet gave me the term "politically smart". "Smart" is rather ironical, and corresponds more with the cynical expression. The drawback is "smart" is rather "colloquial", not good enough for a serious phenomena ....

If I were to choose either "politically correct" or "politically justified", the former is two dimensional, the latter is three dimensional.
