柏楊逝世一周年

Leechard,

I cannot forget that 29/4, yesterday. This date is mostly remembered by many people concerning the future of China and Chinese culture because an unexpected event occured. 柏楊, the famous writer, died on that day a year ago. I wish to take this opportunity to express my profound gratitude towards this gentleman, who have inspired us to think in a new perspective on the whole course of Chinese culture.

I think you will feel the same too.

Best wishes,
william

Leechard,

I cannot agree more on your words:歷史的定律是:時間距離愈遠,偉大的人愈是偉大,而渺小的人愈是渺小。因為,我們需要用時間來提高層次。 This is also my observation towards 柏楊 and other men who have contributed much of their effort in making the world a better place for human and other organisms to live in.

My only hope today is that there will always be gentleman and ladies, who will actively participate in the movement and sacrifice everything they have to push forth our lives, both materially and psychologically, to a new level ever attained by man in history, and to conserve the Earth resource we possess, both biologically and physicially.

Best wishes,
william

Leechard,

4th May this year will be the 30th anniversary of the begining of Margaret thacter, the British prime minister in the 1980s. Under her leadership, tremendanous changes has taken place both in Britain and other places. The privilisation, key theme of Thacterite economy, has shifted the controlling power of many industry from government to the private sector, and is, as some critics suggested, the underlining factor to cause the current financial crisis. It is she and Reagan, American president, who have rendered important service in the downfall of Soviet Union and set the nations in Easten Europe once under its domination free.

She is, i believe, an important figure in 20th century. I think you may spend a few days, publishing articles to discuss the implications of her actions when she were in office.

I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Best wishes,
william
